SimIS had the pleasure of attending the 1st Annual Launching Futures Event last night hosted by STARBASE Victory. The STARBASE Victory program aims to enrich the educational experiences of selected Portsmouth Public School elementary school students by introducing STEM experiential learning at an early age. SimIS had the honor of receiving the Small Business Support for STEM Education Award. Our keynote speaker for the evening was Dr. Tina Manglicmot, Director of STEM and Innovation for the Virginia Department of Education. She spoke about how she is driving the future of STEM education in the Commonwealth. There were also remarks from Dr. Julian Earls, retired Director of the NASA Glenn Research Center. Congratulations to all of the other STEM Award Winners!
