SimIS Hosts “SimIS Summer STEM Camp”

On Wednesday June 27th, SimIS Inc. hosted youth from the Horizons Hampton Roads Summer camp at our Portsmouth office for an interactive tour featuring some of SimIS latest technology which included a virtual reality gaming system, the AIMS CPR system and the building of robots at our lab at the ODU VMASC. Horizons Hampton Roads is camp that focuses on academic, cultural, and recreational activities that are designed to encourage a diverse group of students from low-income families in Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach to realize their full potential. The kids broke off into groups of 10 and were able to experience all of the stations. Many of the kids were excited about the virtual reality simulation and were able to receive education on how future medical practices would be carried out using that same technology as well as learning how to correctly perform CPR, a viable life skill.  Afterwards the kids were able to see and experience our interactive tour and the event concluded with some Q&A time, cupcakes, SimIS swag and lots of laughs.
